Beyond The Beach — Thomas Pilcher Park in Santa Rosa Beach

This is an unusual park: a) it is primarily for fishing and boat launches and b) it is located under the Hwy 331 bridge over Choctawhatchee Bay. Whether you are looking to catch just about any species of fish in Choctawhatchee Bay, launch a boat or wave runner, or just enjoy a breathtaking view at lunch or sunset, Thomas Pilcher Park could be the place.

The park features a 380-foot fishing pier; four boat ramps; six 55-foot docks; three picnic shelters; restrooms; three fishing platforms; plenty of parking for both cars and boat trailers, plus picnic tables, benches and grills.

The park is roughly 15 miles from Marigot Place. Travel east on US 98 to Hwy 331. Turn left and head north on 331 about a mile or so until you see the bridge over the bay. To access the park from the south, stay in the right lane as you approach the bridge. The access road is on the right and continues underneath the bridge. Coming from the north, cross the bridge in the left lane, then make a U-turn at the light. The exit from the park accesses southbound traffic.
